Incongruity

Incongruity....there is something about this photo, I can't quite put my finger on it....the beauty and the stark harshness of the concrete, the bent and twisted tree....I am not sure what it is.

My Favorite Home

This is a photo of my favorite home. I would love to someday own this. I just snapped this photo off on a tour for school one day, and it was one of those magical moments where the picture was taken just right...now if I would have only had my Nikon instead of an amateur camera, and been able to take it in high resolution.

Need I say anything?

Tuba Playing

I don't know why but every time I look at this photo I took of a tuba player I just want to giggle! ha ha!

after the storm

We had yet another horrific storm that pounded our area, the same as many other parts of the midwest. After the storm last night there was a beautiful display of sunshine, dark clouds, dark trees, and the rainbow. The lights and shadows were magnificent! I have not retouched these photos in any way, they are straight out of the camera.

Single Birch Tree

Birch Tree at Dawn

Every morning at Dawn I drive by this tree, some mornings it seems to glow. I have tried several mornings to drive by when the light was just right to get a picture of this tree. The photo I took today comes pretty close to what I wanted to capture. It really is a beautiful drive in the mornings.
Funny...but I never think of my photography as art. I have thousands of images that I should share.

Parisian Belief

I don't know why but I read this caption on a photo in a National Geographic Magazine and was intrigued. This is the first image that popped into my head. Rather a fun little drawing!

all the color is gone

My sister loved stars. I wish I knew why, she had hundreds of them in her apartment. There were in plates, candle holders, pictures, mugs, jewelry, and more....I painted what I was feeling in my journal, that all the colors had left my world and ascended into heaven with my sister.

I want to play!

I found a whole magazine dedicated to Artful Blogging and how Artists are using their blogs to enrich their creative endeavors. They are participating in things like Illustration Friday where you submit and illustration based on the theme of the week. I want to play! So hopefully from here on out instead of hiding my journal pages in books or my illustrations in folders and drawers you will see some of them posted here. I can post my digital artwork, my photography, my pencil drawings and egads! paintings if I am brave enough!

I have come to realize that I don't need to paint masterpieces I just need to paint - period! What is good art? It is good because it fulfills that need for creativity to pour out of my soul in an expressive way? Or is it good because it looks like one of the Masters paintings? I look at some of Picasso's paintings and Van Gogh's and really by my standards some of them aren't all that good! But what I am learning is that good doesn't matter as much as the doing. Your art will always be appealing to someone, somewhere! It is all about finding your artist voice, and letting it out - WITH PASSION! So having said that here is my place to let my artist voice pour out!
I am joining the artistic blogging revolution!
